Laparoscopy

Find out about Laparoscopic surgery and what it means for the patients

What is Laparoscopy?

'This is a state of the art laparoscopic or keyhole surgery theatre because what it allows us to do is to see exactly what is happening inside your body in high definition on television screens, 4 different television screens, angled at different parts of your body. Procedures that I perform here are operations designed to remove the gall bladder, to repair hernias and for bowl cancer surgery. All of these are done through key hole surgery.'

Is there any follow up aftercare?

'I will routinely see the patient in four to six weeks at my clinic, however if there are any problems beforehand or in the interim, I would be absolutely delighted to speak to them over the telephone or I can see them at an earlier appointment.'
