Finding the best course of treatment
'It was extremely easy to get an appointment to see the knee consultant, within a week or
two. He referred me instantly to have x-rays and that was all very rapid. By the time I had the x-ray and had gone back
up to see him he had it on the screen and we were able to discuss the way forward. He explained to me where the wear
and tear was and a partial knee replacement would be the way forward.'

Going into hospital for the procedure
'My experience in the hospital itself was totally enjoyable. I had a very pleasant room with a sea view and every creature comfort
including a TV, music and my own bathroom. My overall feeling of the hospital was that it was more akin to a very nice hotel.
I was presented with a very nice menu that could have been in a high class restaurant.'
