Treatment at home and in hospital
'I had a designated nurse come to my house and fit a pump which gave me chemotheraphy
throughout the week. I had a gap of two weeks and then back onto chemotheraphy for a further
week. In between times I'd had radiotherapy at the hospital. The radiotherapy consisted of between
15 and 20 minute treatments daily, five days a week for seven weeks. Obviously I was very tired
from having the radiotherapy so it was very useful that I could have chemotheraphy at home.'

Personal attention throughout the whole process
'For me, the benefits of having private medical insurance during this time was the fact that
everything was done so quickly. When you are not feeling well and you are uncertain about what
the treatment is likely to be or what the likely outcome is, you do really need to talk to someone,
and quickly. For me that was priceless.'
